Instragram | A Picture An Hour

I spent the day yesterday with my parents, my brother and 2 lovely ladies.
We went to check out some old houses and Danish history.
It was a really nice day, and, as the title suggests, I took
a picture an hour, to show you bits and pieces from the day.

8 am:
I had actually taken a picture of myself when I woke up,
smudged make-up and messed up hair,
but for some reason the computer wouldn't let me save it.
Maybe it's for the best.
Wouldn't want to scare you.

9 am:

Enjoying my breakfast, while Obelix sleeps on.

Right after I took his picture he actually got up,
but he was finding it quite difficult to wake up completely.

10 am:
Waiting for my parents to pick me up.

11 am:
On the road, almost there.

12 am:
Beautiful old houses and streets.

1 pm:
I'd love to live on a charming street like this.

2 pm:
Adorable little shops, in this case toiletries,
complete copies of how things were in the 1920s.

3 pm:
Enjoying the last few minutes there and getting ready to move on.

4 pm:
Late (!) lunch.

5 pm:
On the road again - going home.

6 pm:
Almost home.

7 pm:
Tired! Watching an episode of Glee to relax a bit.

8 pm:
Healthy dinner - not.
I won't even tell you what it was.

Obelix is happy I'm home, and, of course, demands my attention.

9 pm:
Catching some fresh air in the garden.

So excited to see flowers on my little blueberry bushes!

10 pm:
Trying to decided what to bake for tomorrow(well, today),
but ended up deciding on something different.
(Follow me on Instagram to see what I bake, eat and spend my
time doing everyday. Username: leabinta)

11 pm:
Ready for bed. Nightie-night!

Instagram | Those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer

In Denmark we don't have a lot of days with warm weather,
not even during the summer.
Right now though, it's like a little piece of heaven.
I thrive in warm weather.
I'm actually pretty sure I'm cold blooded by mistake,
because I'm like the lizards and snakes -
I get my energy from laying in the sun,
soaking in the warmth.
So that's pretty much what I'm doing these days -
soaking in the warmth,
enjoying the sunshine,
and cherishing the blue sky.

Home Decor | Postcards and memories

A while ago I showed you my new chair,
and also mentioned that I had finally gotten frames and pictures
 on the wall.

And guess what -
the empty frame is now full!

Originally I thought I'd hang pictures of friends in there,
but then I changed my mind and I decided to let a few of my many,
MANY postcards come to good use.
Along with a few other things.

The flower appliqué is one my brother got for me a ridiculous amount of years ago.
I don't remember if it was before we went to live in Nigeria, or while we were in Denmark on furlough
 - it's that long ago!
The best thing is that he got for me for no reason at all.
He saw it at a market and bought it.
One for me, one for my mom, one for my grandma.
I don't think he even remembers this.
But I do.

I don't actually remember where I got the white flower,
but I do remember that I pinned it to the shirt I wore at my friend's funeral.
And I remember my friend's dad commenting on my flower.
It was such a horrible and beautiful day.
I couldn't believe I had lost a friend at such a young age,
but to see that huge crowd appearing at his funeral,
to say goodbye for the last time,
was moving beyond words.
It was beautiful, and exactly what he deserved.

This soft heart is one I got for Valentine's day. Also soooo many years ago.
It doesn't mean a lot to me, but love is always nice,
and it fits well with the postcard with the kissing giraffes.

I could tell you stories and tales about all the postcards,
but there's really no time for that.
Maybe some other time.

Maybe you can stop by for coffee?
I would love to tell you about all the memories I have.
These are just a few. They're not the most important,
nor the most insignificant.
But they're there all the same.

To-do List | Public holiday

Today is a public holiday in Denmark, which means this weekend is 3 days long. Not a bad idea, if you ask me.
Normally I plan lots of stuff during my weekends, but this weekend I haven't planned anything for today or tomorrow.
For once I'm just going to do whatever I feel like.

I still made a to-do list though.

Today, I'm going to:
Take a walk in the park with my dog and my man
Take a loooong shower and not hurry at all
Have a cup of coffee, preferably in the sun
Browse the net for something special for my mother-in-law
for mother's day (which is on the 13th of june in Dk)
Look around for party ideas for my parents' 25th wedding
anniversary in august (so awesome!)
Bake a cake - maybe try that cheesecake recipe I've been
eyeing since for-e-vah
Spend my evening hanging out with friends and talk
the night away

Those are my plans for today.
What are your plans for this lovely friday?
